DULUTH, MN – SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The Duluth Indigenous Commission is hosting an Indigenous Peoples Day celebration at City Hall Monday.
The noon event will feature speakers from the Commission, Mayor Emily Larson, Senator Tina Smith and others. Sugar Bush, a drum group, will perform.
The University of Wisconsin-Superior is celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day on Monday near the Yellowjacket Union on campus.
The ceremony begins at 4:30 p-m at the Medicine Wheel and Community Gathering area in the Union courtyard.
Following the ceremony, a program presented by the Woodland Sky Native American Dance Group will be held at 5:30 in Old Main’s Thorpe Langley Auditorium.
Both events are free and open to the public.
