DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Delayed a bit by gale warnings on Lake Superior, the ocean going bulk carrier Resko arrived in the Twin Ports around 6:32 p-m Wednesday.
The first “saltie” of the season will be loading about 21,600 short tons of wheat in Superior destined for Italy.
The ship, based in Poland, left the Netherlands and made stops in Indiana and Milwaukee on its way to Duluth-Superior.
A welcoming event for the Resko will be held on Friday when the winner of the First Ship Contest sponsored by the Duluth Seaway Port Authority and Visit Duluth will be announced.
